Passport and Visa
All visitors to the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before arriving. Visitors with roundtrip tickets from countries that have a special agreement with Korea may be exempted fromthe visa requirement, and can stay in Korea visa-free for periods up to 30 days, or 90 days, depending on the type of agreement between the two countries. Currency Exchange and Taxes
Currency - The unit of Korean the currency is the Won (₩). Coin denominations are ₩10, ₩50, ₩100 and ₩500. Banknotes are ₩1,000, ₩5,000,₩10,000 and ₩50,000. The exchange rate is approximately US$1 to KR ₩1,053 as of August 2014. Tax - Value-Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods and services at a standard rate of 10% and is included in the retail price. In tourist hotels, this 10% tax applies to rooms, meals and other services and is included in the bill.
Tipping
Tipping is not customary in Korea. Sometimes, expensive restaurants and luxury hotels may add a service charge of 10%. Thus, you do not necessarily have to prepare for extra charges since it will be included in the bill.

Dial 119 for the fire department and medical assistance, and 112 for the police.
Insurance
The Organizing Committee will take no liability for personal injuries sustained by, or for loss or damage to property belonging to congress participants, either during or as a result of the congress. It is, therefore, advised that participants arrange their own personal health, accident and travel insurance.
